Use the correct size stove plate to ensure maximum heat distribution in your pot. Be careful that the handles do not sit directly above a heat source as they will get hot and you can burn yourself when picking up the product. To be safe, always use oven gloves when lifting pots off the stove.
If you have a ceramic or halogen hob, do not drag your pot across the surface as this will cause scratch marks on the glass top.
If you leave your pot on continuous high heat, this will cause discolouration.
DO NOT LEAVE UNATTENDED WHEN ON THE STOVE– always ensure that there’s enough liquid in the pot to PREVENT IT FROM BOILING DRY.
Do not leave food in the pot overnight as this might cause a discolouration in the pot,
also in some areas the calcium in the water might leave a white mark on the surface of your stainless steel.
This will not affect the cooking ability of the pot.
Do not use this pot in a microwave oven.
Use the lid that fits the pot correctly when cooking, as this will allow you to cook at a lower heat and save on electricity.
Natural nutrients and colouring of the food will also be absorbed in the pot.
All Hendler & Hart (Pty) Ltd. pots carry a Quality Warranty against defective materials and poor workmanship.
Cleaning
As soon as you have finished cooking remove pan from the heat source and let it cool down – NEVER pour cold water into a hot pan.
Burnt food can be removed by soaking the pan overnight, avoid using harsh abraisives or steel wool, this will scratch the stainless steel polished surface.
A blue or rainbow colour on the stainless steel is caused by salt or minerals in the food or dishwasher. This will not affect your food or the taste of the food. The white calcium marks which is left by “hard” water can be removed by boiling up water with either lemon juice or vinegar.
Hand washing is the most effective way to keep your pots looking good. Although we recommend hand washing, your pots can be used in a dishwasher, but over time the dishwasher detergents will affect the appearance of your pots. This will not affect the cooking ability of the pots.
